Daniel Balavoine, an iconic and emblematic artist of French music, with his socially conscious lyrics, left his mark on the 70s and 80s with unforgettable songs such as L’Aziza, Le Chanteur, Tous les cris, les SOS and Mon fils, ma bataille.
He was brought to the attention of the general public by Michel Berger, who offered him the role of Johnny Rockfort in the musical Starmania. For the occasion, he sported a rock-punk look and sang two songs to perfection that would make him famous: Quand on arrive en ville and SOS d’un terrien en détresse.

The public discovered an exceptional artist who would inspire an entire generation with his unique style, blending rock, pop and variety influences.

Daniel Balavoine, also a fervent defender of causes close to his heart (notably education and the fight against poverty), passionately addressed and championed social and humanitarian issues throughout his career, which was tragically cut short in 1986 in a helicopter accident.
